Project closing conference among NUCE, Ecosystem Co., Ltd and Oriental Consultants Japan Co., Ltd

On the afternoon of February 17, 2022, the Online Workshop summarizing the Project: "Survey and Evaluation on the feasibility of recycling construction solid waste into recycled aggregate and paving materials project in Vietnam" was held successfully. This is a cooperation project between Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (NUCE), Ecosystem Co., Ltd. and Oriental Consultants Co., Ltd., Japan.

On behalf of NUCE, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Vice Rector, Director of Satreps Project; Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Head of International Cooperation Department. 

Representative of Japan delegates including Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ken Kawamoto, Co-Director of the SATREPS Project, University of Saitama; Mr. Takata Minoru, Chairman of Ecosystem Co., Ltd; Mr. Suzuki Motofumi, representatives of Oriental Consultants Co., Ltd. and 45 broadcasting stations in the 2 countries.

This abovementioned project has cooperated with the Satreps Project on Construction Solid Waste Management entitled “Establish an effective construction waste management system to control environmental pollution and enhance the ability to manufacture novel various types of construction materials from recycled construction wastes in Vietnam” funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). NUCE in collaboration with the Saitama University of Japan implemented the Satreps project.

The following issues were brought into the closing conference namely (1) Current status of construction solid waste management in Vietnam; (2) Solid construction waste recycling technology is proposed by Ecosystem Co., Ltd. with the advantages of reducing adverse effects on the environment and the greenhouse effect; (3) Report on the results of pilot construction of recycled concrete from construction waste at the campus of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and DEEP - C Industrial Park, Hai Phong.

According to such very positive test results, this concrete technology is forecasted to be widely applied in urban areas for sustainable development, and environmental protection which opens a prospect future for the Construction field.
